Primo Piatto: Pasta e Riso

LIVE FROM ITALY

Saturday, April 10, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm CDT via Zoom
Conversations will be in English

The tradition of the first course "primo piatto" is an all-Italian custom. Chef Ambassador Andrea Ruisi will do an in-depth study on one of the most significant elements of the food heritage of the Bel Paese: pasta and rice.

Fresh, dry or filled pasta are key products of gastronomy: we will explore their history, their places of origin and development. We will learn the art and technique of pasta through anecdotes, stories and recipes and discover that for each type of pasta there is an infinite series of different sauces, condiments and ingredients.

Not only pasta in Italian gastronomy, but also rice and risotto. We will talk about the different varieties, their histories, their places of production up to the boundless world of recipes and dishes that enhance them.

An all-Italian journey where you can virtually savor not only recipes and dishes but also all Italian history, culture and tradition.
